Blizzard March 2009
This is the south side of my barn, outside wall
height is 16'.  Those snow drifts are halfway up
the wall!  WOW.   The snow you see on the bottom
of the door is 2' deep.  That door wont be opening
for awhile!
My house has three steps up to it... I'm sure
they are under there someplace!
Stana on path
from house to
barn; knee deep
in snow!
North side of my barn, snow
against this door is only about
12" deep, snow drift between
barn and trailer is waist deep.
Almost impossible to drag hay
through THERE!
Sarah was supposed
to dig out the porch.
She decided to dig
down and find out
how deep the snow
REALLY was!  It's this
deep!
This is our loader...stuck in the snow in the road.
We wont be moving hay bales today...
If we can't get dug out by tonight, all horses in the
barn will have to have hay HAND CARRIED to
them!  That ought to take what... 2-3 hours?
This is Spike and Milo... Spike
says he's too little to deal
with such snow... luckily they
dont sink too far down and
can skim across the surface
if they keep moving fast
enough!
Sunday & Ellie "enjoying" a
romp in the snow together.
Surely THIS will develop a
huge hip, right?  :)
Janey and Biscuit with their
new foals...  Now, is that ANY
way to treat a newborn?
Patti thought the snow was
GREAT... just the ticket for
racing through!   Patti LOVES
to run!
Saved by the Grader Man!!!
