Stallion Service Agreement
I, _________________________________mare owner as shown on Mare’s Certificate of Registration,
hereby agree to breed________________________________(name of mare), reg #_______________,
Age_________________, and color ____________________to the stallion ALMIGHTY (APHA 736733
and AQHA 4969487) in the year 20_______, and pay the stud fee of $400.
Terms of Agreement
1. Nonrefundable booking fee (1/2 fee) due at signing. Balance and Mare Care due before mare leaves farm or
before semen is shipped. Mare care will be assessed at $8 per day dry or $10 a day wet.
2. Mare to be sound and in healthy breeding condition. Mare owner hereby grants permission to have mare
treated by a licensed vet and have normal vet services performed for anything which might insure the mare's well-
being, including palpation and ultrasound, if needed; but only if mutually agreed upon. Mare owner accepts
responsibility for any vet charges incurred by mare or foal on said mare while at Painted Prairie. Mare should be
delivered to farm with hind shoes removed, negative Coggins, current vac records, and a copy of the registration
papers. A negative culture is suggested.
3. If for any reason the mare is unable to be settled in foal in a reasonable amount of time another mare may be
substituted with the approval of the stallion owner.
4. It is understood Painted Prairie Farm owners or employees will not be held responsible for accidents,
sickness, or death to mare of foal while on the farm, and that every care is taken to ensure the well-being of all
animals. However, mares who are rank, unhalter broken, or dangerous will not be allowed to remain on the farm
and owners will be asked to remove said mare immediately.
5. Live foal is guaranteed for this breeding. Should foal fail to stand and nurse, the mare owner is entitled to
rebreed at no additional stud fee, but shipping fees and mare care can apply. Stallion owner must be notified of
death of foal within three days of foaling and must be accompanied by vet statement. Rebreed must occur in same
year of foaling or following year only, and must be to same mare unless mutually agreed in writing. Failure to use
breeding by the following year will result in forfeiture of breeding fee. No cash refunds of stud fee.
6. Color foal guarantee is for Paint Mares carrying regular papers…if resulting foal is SBP owner is entitled to a
breed back at half price. This does not include vet fees, shipping fees, or mare care. This guarantee is for colored
Paint mares only.
Transported Cooled Semen Addendum:
1. Mare owners requiring shipped semen will be dealing directly with farm veterinarian Dr. James Speers
(Wichita, KS) for shipped semen. 2012 Stud fee does NOT include shipments. Semen can be shipped Monday
through Friday and requires notification before 5 pm if you need semen shipped the following day. Dr. Speers
office can accommodate your credit card payment for shipped Semen which is $_____ per shipment. Same Day
delivery is possible for $____, airline schedules permitting.
2. Mare must be inseminated on the date of delivery by a licensed veterinarian or licensed repro specialist.
3. Mare owner agrees to have mare examined by an early ultrasound scan 15 days after the last day
inseminated and notify Painted Prairie of her pregnancy status. It is also suggested a follow-up pregnancy check
be done at 45 days post breeding. Follow your veterinarian's recommendations.
4. Agreement with Dr. Speers office will include your shipping directions.
This agreement does hereby become a part of the Stallion Service Agreement between the mare owner and
Painted Prairie Farm and subject to all conditions therein.
